Before writing a single piece of marketing copy, I had to understand what actually drives platform choice. Because 'easy-to-use interface' wasn't going to cut it.
Competitive research & Positioning
Analyzed 15+ social investing and trading platforms (Robinhood, eToro, Trade Republic, Public, Webull, etc.)
Mapped competitor positioning, feature sets, messaging strategies, and target audiences
Identified gaps in the market where yeekatee could own a unique positioning
Developed a differentiation framework that informed all marketing and product decisions
That helped to get closer to our positioning angle.
Deep-dive user interviews
Conducted interviews with Swiss retail investors across different experience levels (complete beginners to active traders)
Uncovered pain points, motivations, and decision-making factors for choosing investment platforms
Identified which features actually mattered vs. which ones were just 'nice to have'
Community engagement
How do you get people interested in an investing app before they're ready to invest real money? You give them a way to test their ideas without risking anything.
Stock Market Game
We organized and executed a stock market simulation game to engage the community before the product launch
Created a low-stakes environment where people could test investing strategies, compete with others, and learn without financial risk
Gave potential users a way to interact with yeekatee and each other before committing real money
Community building and content were the foundation. But we also had to drive actual user acquisition through paid and organic channels.
Campaign management
Designed and executed campaigns across SEA (Google Ads), LinkedIn and email marketing
Managed marketing automation workflows for lead nurturing and onboarding sequences
Built partnerships with influencers and vendors in the investing and fintech space
